Eagle Creek Hike

Found a post from May that was saved to my phone's blogger ap that I forgot to upload!  The first weekend of May Anthony and I went to Stevenson, WA.  The biggest part of our weekend get-a-way was a hike up Eagle Creek.  We did a total of about 8 miles.  It was sure beautiful and one day I may have to try camping at the top like we saw some hikers heading to do.  You have to hike about 15 miles to get there though.  Anyway, it was a nice weekend.  It was Anthony's finish his first tax season mini-break.

Coastal Trip

Okay, I was saving this post so that I could organize and label the photos, but seeing that so much time has past, I'm just going to post the photos in random order!  On July 4th we went with Melissa and Paul to Long Beach, WA to set off fireworks on the beach.  After a nice holiday we them, Anthony and I spent a night in Astoria and exploring Astoria.  Then, on my birthday we explored our way down to Canon Beach.  we stopped at Fort Stevens, Peter Iredale, and Seaside.  After a few days relaxing, hiking at Canon Beach (and my first kayaking trip at Fort Clatsop!) we went down the coast stopping at several light houses and Sea Lion Caves.  At the light house before Sea Lion caves I saw a sign about whale watching.  I told Anthony, "I'm going to find a whale!" So I looked around and did find some in the distance!  I wasn't sure if I really did see them they were so far away, but it was whales because at sea Lion caves I saw whales again, but closer!  So I knew it was whales!  At sea lion caves there was a mom and baby feeding on crustaceans really close to shore.  They were so much fun to watch.  I didn't get great pictures, but you'll just have to imagine.  We then went inland and visited Anthony's mom.  While there we went to the wild life safari before heading back home.  It was such a nice vacation!  I'm looking forward to the next one!
